The participants entered the temple walking in brisk fall weather.
The chief priest talked slowly to all those who have worked with alcohol beverages as if he were talking to each person one by one.
“You have been working with alcohol beverages, I hear. In Buddhism sake is called “The Water of Wisdom.” In Buddhism there are various commandments. One of them prohibits you from drinking sake. However, it does not mean sake is bad. Sake is precious. So you should consider what drinking means, how enjoyable drinking is and how much sake makes you joyful.
The Buddhist commandment is a promise, what to do in drinking.
Your job is providing your guests with enjoyable time by serving them beverages.
Today the world has been globalized as various peoples have got rid of their boundaries.
So the issue is how to get along with other peoples.
I am sure that your work will help them to be symbiotic.
I hope that Byodoin Temple can be a place where symbiosis will be promoted.
I think that you have a ten yen coin in your pocket. It has Byodoin Temple engraved. Byodoin Temple is always together with you.

The JSA handed a ten yen coin to each participant. They received them thankfully.
Then they enjoyed strolling around the temple garden with beautiful autumn leaves and dropped in at the Museum Hohshokan where the National Treasures are exhibited.
Some of the participants compared the bird on a ten thousand yen bill with the Hohoh bird on the roof decoration of Hohohdo, Byodoin Temple which is designated as a national treasure.
For all the participants the priest’s lesson on “The Water of Wisdom” is unforgettable.
